Rattles
Rattles are usually made out of a rawhide spherical casing with beads, small stones or shell pieces, mounted on a wooden stick. The other type of rattles is made out of buffalo hoofs or deer hoofs suspended from a stick or a long bone piece which when shaken gives a rattling sound. The number of small stones, shell pieces or beads, inside the rattle is of one of the significant numbers, such as 7 of the 7 clans or 13 of the 13 new moons.
